So, I'm at the mall with my friends from work and we're shopping before we go eat dinner to celebrate my birthday when I get a frantic phone call from Ken. He's at the doctor's office with Evan and Evan has a fever of 104.5. I then left the mall and met him at the doctor's office where the doctor was giving the final instructions - keep an eye on him, keep him cool, and if we want to get quick results then we should take him to the emergency room. So off we went to the hospital. He was extremely lethargic and that was the scariest part - it didn't seem like that boy was Evan! After checking in, Evan threw up ALL over me - I mean ALL over me. It was so gross! Then as we continued to wait for the 3 hours we were in the waiting room, he threw up 3 more times. Finally they called him for chest x-rays and then they called us to this small building where they tested him for influenza and the swine flu. They gave him some nausea medicine and then tested to see if he could keep down liquids. The influenza test came back negative, we won't know about swine flu for 4 days (but they don't think it's that), and he didn't throw up his liquid. The conclusion: Evan has a good, ole stomach flu. We finally made it home around 11pm. Thankfully he slept in a bit. He woke up with a temperature of 100, but is acting much more normal. He wanted to wear his hood and sunglasses, which he always wants to wear, so I take that as a good sign that he's feeling better. Currently he's asleep so I'll keep you all updated if anything changes. Thank you so much for your prayers! We appreciate them so much!!! And thanks to Longs who take such good care of Evan everyday, and to my friends from work who kept me calm and thanks to the Calocas for coming to walk and feed Otis and to bring us clean clothes to wear at the hospital! We love all of our friends and family so much!!!
