Love

We just spent the past 3 days doing respite care for a 3 month old baby.  He was so sweet and it's amazing to me how attached you can get in such a short amount of time.  Naturally, it made me reflect back on both Evan and Katelyn as babies.  To share one story, I remember how difficult it was to get Katelyn to go to sleep at night.  She would only sleep well if she knew I was in the room. There were many nights when I would have to sit or lie next to her crib and place my hand on her body.  Anytime I tried to sneak out, she would feel the removal of the hand and cry.  So tonight, 4 or so years later, I was putting Katelyn to bed tonight and she's still my same little baby. I decided to lay with her in her bed for a few minutes.  Instead of me placing my hand on her, she reached over and laid her hand on me as reassurance that I was still there. It was so sweet. I love my kids so much!

Knott's Berry Farm

Yesterday, we enjoyed a day at Knott's Berry Farm to celebrate Grandma Cheryl's 60th birthday. The kids had been so eager to go and they had such a great time.

Ken's Birthday Dinner

We enjoyed a nice dinner at Kobe Japanese House for Ken's 35th birthday!  Here are some pics!

Gymnastics

Katelyn began taking gymnastics lessons at her preschool.  A company comes to the school and sets up the classes for the kids.  Yesterday she got to go to their actual gym facility for the end of session party.  She had a blast.

It's Time Again for the Pumpkin Patch

The kids wait all year for the pumpkin patch to open up.  We got our chance today to go on the rides, slides, and to pick out two pumpkins.  The kids would go every day if they could!

Katelyn's 4th Birthday

Today is Katelyn's 4th birthday.  She was so cute this morning.  She came in to my bed about 8am (this is our normal morning routine - I don't wake up until one of the kids wakes me up).  I said Happy Birthday to her.  Immediately she looked at her sleeve and said, "Mommy, last night this went to here (her wrist) and today it's only right here (not quite to her wrist)."  Then she ran to the mirror and said, "I have to see how tall I am."  It was so cute.

We took the kids to The Cove waterpark today.  We had such a fantastic time.  Then Katelyn got to pick dinner (mac-n-cheese) and we had cupcakes to celebrate.
